About Clint Hughes
Clint Hughes’s career in photography began in the darkroom as a black & white printer. His fascination with black & white photography began when he was on a city & guilds course in the late 1980’s & has been with him ever since. Clint however had always admired the work of photojournalists & sports photographers, particularly the work of Don McCullin, Josef Koudelka, Chris Smith & Eamonn McCabe. It was the latter two who gave Clint the inspiration to escape the darkroom living & progress to making it as a sports photographer.
Clint Hughes has been the official photographer to Sale Sharks RUFC for the past 5 years & has won an award for his sports photography.
He also continues to work on his black & white photography & markets his limited edition fine art prints to both commercial clients & the general public.
Award Winning Photograph
In March 2004, Clint was runner up in the “Spirit of Rugby” category of the Zurich Rugby Photograph of the Year 2003. Clint received his prize of £1500 from Sir Clive Woodward at an awards party in London organized by Octagon.
