The prints: - Clint uses high quality fibre based printing papers which have a highly refined wood pulp base. Such papers have no plastic coating & consequently absorb all processing solutions into their core & this along with his archival printing processes, will give the finished print a long life so long as it is properly cared for.

The printing process: - A great deal of care & work goes into the printing of each individual photograph. After the print passes through the developer & stop bath stages, it is then put through two fixing baths. The first fixing bath performs most of the fixing process & takes the print to a fixed state, (meaning you can switch the dark room light on) The second fixing bath ensures that all the silver salts in the print are rendered soluble leading to a print with a higher archival state.

After a 30 minute wash, the prints are ready for toning & Clint uses two different types of archival toner, selenium & thiocarbamide. Selenium toner, whilst having a minimal effect on the colour of the black & white print, forms a silver selenium compound which is more stable and permanent than an untoned print. Thiocarbamide toner is a two bath toner which means the print is bleached back prior to toning. Thiocarbamide toner gives the prints a beautiful rich sepia tone which can be altered to give Clint many different variations of tone. It is also a very, very good archival toner which will help give your print investment a long life.

This careful individual hand processing approach to printing the photographs means Clint can use his printing skills to coax exquisite details from the negative that you will see in each print. This individual approach also means that each finished print may show slight variations to other prints that make it a unique work of art for you to invest in whether you are a private collector, interior designer or corporate collector.

The editions: - Each print has a limited edition run of 40 & the prints are printed onto 16x12 fibre based paper. The prints are signed by the artist & come with a certificate of authentication.

Postage and packing will be charged according to size, weight and destination.

The limited edition fine art racing prints are produced using the archival Giclee printing process & each print is limited to a run of 40 prints only, signed by the artist & comes with a certificate of authentication.

The actual image size will be as ordered with a plain border round the print to aid framing & mounting. If you require your ordered print to be framed for you, please discuss this with Clint Hughes when ordering your chosen print.
